Join us on our 2 hour walking tour, as we hit the streets of Salt River, a hidden gem known for it’s vibrant creative scene in the heart of Cape Town, and uncover an eclectic mix of street art.

We meet the locals and experience Cape Town sub-cultures, learn about the artists, their message and different techniques used. Walking you through individual pieces as well as giving you an overview of these colourful pieces to experience first-hand just how street art is changing the perspective in these local communities!

10h00 – Arrival & Welcome
Meet a CURIOCITY guide at the designated meeting point in Salt River. Get a short introduction to the area and its history as an industrial hub turned cultural hotspot.

10h00 / 14h00 – Street Art Discovery Begins
Set off on foot through Salt River’s vibrant streets. Your guide will introduce you to a series of large-scale murals and hidden gems, sharing stories behind the artworks, the artists, and the communities they represent.

Learning about different artistic techniques, from spray paint to large-scale brushwork.
Exploring the powerful messages of identity, social change, and heritage embedded in the murals.
Engaging with locals and understanding how street art plays a role in urban regeneration.

Pause at key pieces to reflect, ask questions, and snap incredible photos. Guests are encouraged to share impressions and interpretations, making this an engaging cultural exchange.

11h45 – Closing Reflections
The tour ends with an overview of Salt River’s growing reputation as a global street art hub and its impact on the wider Cape Town creative scene.

Tour concludes at the meeting point. The CURIOCITY guide will recommend nearby cafés or creative spaces if you’d like to continue exploring on your own.

Some murals are outdoors with little to no shelter. *Sunny Days: Cape Town sun can be strong — we recommend sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. *Extreme Weather: In the event of heavy rain, storms, or extreme heat, the tour may be rescheduled or adjusted for safety. Guests will be notified in advance where possible.
