CURIOCITY introduces The Black Route Wine Experience, an immersive storytelling journey through South Africa’s first generation of winemakers — a celebration of culture, heritage, and excellence led by pioneering Black winemakers and culinary creatives. This full-day experience takes guests beyond the vineyards, into the personal stories and legacies that continue to shape the industry.
Seven Sisters Vineyards – Pioneers of Heritage and Resilience
Location: Pikketberg Road, Stellenbosch
Duration: 2 hours
Wine tasting and storytelling
The Seven Sisters Vineyard tells a remarkable story of seven determined women — the Brutus sisters — who turned their family’s love of wine into a legacy brand. Each sister represents a wine with a unique personality, reflecting their bond and journey from being uprooted during apartheid to reclaiming their place in South Africa’s winemaking story.
Guests will be welcomed by a host storyteller who brings this journey to life through personal anecdotes and family heritage. A guided wine tasting follows, featuring a selection of their finest wines paired with light snacks, celebrating the strength, perseverance, and sisterhood behind the label.
